Gordon Quick
Managing Principal

After decades of leading businesses and companies, Gordon Quick formed CEO Mentors, with the goal of sharing his hard-earned lessons with other CEOs.

Gordon served as a senior executive for most of his business career of 30 years.  He's been the CEO and COO of both private and public early stage companies, and has also run divisions for a Fortune 500 company.  In most cases, he entered the businesses when a turnaround was required, and left after achieving rapid growth.  In four years he led an early stage company to just under $100 million, ultimately resulting in the sale of the business for $800 million.  He has taken a private company public and a public company private.  As CEO he has had experience with many different cultures while managing offices all over the world and working with customers on six continents.

Gordon’s breadth of experience was developed while working in a variety of industries (including software, fixed and wireless telecommunications and transportation/logistics), and business situations (including turnarounds, early stage, and in both growth and mature markets). One thing he found was that the principles of successful stewardship of a company were quite consistent across these diverse assignments.

Working with a friend and business colleague (co-author Bob Fifer), Gordon synthesized his 30 years of business experience into the widely acclaimed book The Enlightened CEO – How to Succeed at the Toughest Job in Business.  This book serves as the foundation for much of the guidance he offers his clients.

Gordon earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, marketing and management, culminating with a Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
